Performance Opportunities.

Hattiesburg Music Teachers League Recitals

For students who wish to participate, Dr. Laura offers different performance opportunities each semester.   The Hattiesburg Music Teachers League schedules student recitals at various times during the year.  These recitals offer students an opportunity to gain performing experience and develop self-confidence. Participation is not required of any student, and parents are free to choose the specific performance activities in which their child will participate.

Annual Studio Honors Recital and Studio Carol Program

Dr. Laura's students are encouraged to showcase their musical accomplishments at her annual Studio Honors Recital.  Parents, grandparents, and siblings are all welcome at this special event.  At the conclusion of the recital, there is an award ceremony in which students receive trophies, awards, and certificates they have earned during the school year.

The Christmas Carol Program is an annual event held at a lovely area retirement facility.  Family members of students are also invited to attend this special event.

Music Festivals

For students who desire additional performance opportunities, Dr. Laura's professional affiliations allow her students to participate in several music festivals, including the National Federation of Music Clubs District Festival and the Mississippi Music Teachers Association Pre-College Evaluations and State Finals.

Church, School, and (last, but not least) Family Gatherings

Many of Dr. Laura's students are asked to play at church and school events.  Dr. Laura frequently gets reports of her students playing for rave reviews from grandparents during holiday visits!
